Impacting ONE life is significant because EVERY life matters.
It was 2 years ago that I started writing my first book. My WHY is because I want to leave a legacy and my written words will live beyond me. It’s no secret that our words can give life. They can build up or tear down. Words have the power to heal and influence us toward change. But earlier this year, I stopped writing my book because I thought “Nobody cares what you have to say. So no one will read it. Besides, you don’t have the resources to even publish it.“
Unfortunately, I allowed those limiting thoughts and beliefs (and words) paralyze me. I received these thoughts into my spirit instead of rejecting them. BUT NO LONGER! In my talks with God concerning success and what could be possible for me, He reminded me of the ONE. He said to me “Is it not success if just ONE LIFE WAS CHANGED as a result of your book?” Success isn’t about making millions or making the New York Times Best Selling author list (although I’ll take it, Jesus!). Success—I’m learning, is about the ONE. Impacting the life of ONE person.
I came across this quote the other day that really encouraged me when it came to my “NOBODY WILL READ IT” stinkin thinking. The quote said
“Helping one person may not change the world but it can change the world for one person.”
SUCCESS AND SIGNIFICANCE
God used this quote to remind me that even if I helped just ONE person—I could help change their world! The life of ONE matters! Your life matters and so does mine! But why do so many of us stop pursuing an idea, goal, or dream that God gave us to help others because we think it won’t impact the masses and the multitudes? Since when did changing the life of ONE for the better be viewed as insignificant and less successful? Why do we allow ourselves to stop doing a good thing because we think a “small” thing (in our eyes) is an insignificant thing? Where did we get this thinking from?
What I DO know is that someONE needs what God has given me to say. And someone needs what you have to give. It may not impact EVERYONE, but it will impact someONE. There are billions of people on this planet. Surely my book will change the life of ONE. AND Surely YOUR idea, book, product, or service will change the life of ONE! And so it’s for the ONE that I write.
