I’ve cracked the code for living a joyful and successful life.

The Pursuit of Happiness

After almost 43 years, I have finally cracked the code for living an abundant life—a life FULL of happiness/joy, health, success, and prosperity. But it may not be what you may think.

Before sitting down to write this blog post, I did a “happiness” and “success” word search on amazon.com and guess how many products showed up under each of these words? Over 100,000 results!!! Search results for the word “health” yielded over 300,000 results! I can’t even imagine what the numbers would be under a google search!

The point is there are a lot of folks out there sharing their ideas and tips on how to live a happier, healthier and more successful life. But you know what? I have my own faith-based philosophy that comes down to 4 faith factors: God-Perspective, God-Confidence, God-Initiative and God-Reality. When we can learn to live our lives by practicing these 4 faith factors, I believe we will experience true joy, peace, health, success, and prosperity.

Joy-FULL and Success-FULL Living

Factor 1: God-Confidence: HOPE

This faith factor is about placing our complete confidence in God’s ability and willingness to be our:

  • Provider: the one who supplies ALL of our needs (Gen. 22:13-14; Ps. 23:1)
  • Helper: the one who is our refuge & ever-present help in times of need & trouble (Ex.17:8-15)
  • Strength:the one who gives us the ability to endure/overcome life’s challenges (2Cor.12:8-10)
  • Comforter: the one who comforts us in our distress, sorrow, pain, and trauma (2Cor.1:4)
  • Healer: the one who is able to cleanse us from every sickness and disease (Ex. 15:26)
  • Peace: the one who calms all our worries, fears, anxiety, distress and discouragement (Jn.14:27)

God-confidence is trusting in God to be all we need in life. He is the great I AM after all. Whatever or whoever you need Him to be in your life, he says “I am.” When we have hope, we can rest assured God will always show up in our lives and work out ALL things for our good. When we place our HOPE in God and not in ourselves (that would be self-confidence), we are trusting God to do exceedingly and abundantly above all could ever ask, think or imagine. Hope is faith-focused and forward-facing confidence in all that God is able and willing to do for you. GOD-CONFIDENCE is what brings you joy, peace, health, success, and prosperity.

Factor 2: God-Perspective: WISDOM

When we are able to gain God’s point of view on our lives (as much as our finite minds can actually comprehend), we can begin to see everything from an unlimited, all-powerful and unstoppable spiritual perspective instead of a natural perspective that is weak and limited.

God’s thoughts and ways are so much higher than our thoughts. He sees things from an eternal, kingdom dominion perspective whereas we mainly see things from a time-based, earthly dominion perspective. We can’t see or understand what He’s doing on our behalf. We can’t comprehend how He can turn our pain into purpose, our troubles into triumphs, our failures into fruitfulness, our rejection into divine redirection or our setbacks into success.

When we can gain greater insight into His character and how He works, we strengthen our God-perspective. When we can gain supernatural insight into our divine: identity, purpose, design, and mission in life, we will experience supernatural peace in life that surpasses all our understanding.

Wisdom Leads to Success

When we align all of our decisions and thoughts to God’s Word, He will cause us to dwell in safety (Ps.4). Wisdom gives us the supernatural knowledge we need to succeed in life. Wisdom gives us joy (Prov. 2:10; Prv.3:13) and makes us great (Prov. 4:8). Gaining wisdom (or God’s perspective) on matters will save our lives (Ecc. 7:12; Prv. 4:11) because we won’t walk on the path of destruction. Wisdom multiplies our days and adds years to our lives (Prov.9:11). Acquiring wisdom allows you to love yourself and prosper (Prov. 19:8; Ezek.28).

When we are able to take on God’s perspective, we see life from a place of abundance rather than scarcity or lack because, in Christ, we lack NOTHING (Ps.23). When we take on God’s perspective, we see life from a place of unlimited possibilities rather than impossibilities because NOTHING is impossible for God (Mt.19:26). When we take on God’s perspective, we begin to see our weaknesses as blessings because that’s when God’s strength steps in to make us strong (2Cor.12:9).

God-Perspective Reveals Purpose

When we can see our professional or occupational role as one of being a powerful and impactful ambassador of Christ, when we can see our geographical placement/location on this earth as our mission field—and when we can see ourselves as enough, as fearfully and wonderfully made, as capable, significant and important, as one-of-a-kind precious treasures, as royal heirs and as remarkable and irreplaceable sons and daughters of God— when we can see we are worthy of love—- love so powerful that the led Jesus to die on a cross for our sin and shame, thus granting us the gift of eternal life for all those believe in Him (John 3:16)……

AND— when we can truly grasp that nothing can separate us from the love of God and that nothing we have done in the past, are doing right now or will do in our future will ever stop Him from loving us relentlessly and unconditionally—AND when we can truly understand how wide and long and high and deep Christ’s love is for us—I believe we will be able to be filled to the measure of ALL the fullness of God (Eph. 3:18-20)— fullness of the joy, peace, happiness, success, and prosperity that only He can bring. It’s about placing our hope—our complete confidence in WHO GOD IS, HIS PERSPECTIVE AND HIS POWER to work on our behalf and give us the good, blessed and abundant life He promised us.

I don’t know what you may be thinking right now but let me tell you. Once I began to live my life with God-confidence—and once I started to gain His perspective on my life through the wisdom and insight gained through prayer, worship and His Word–that was the turning point in my life where I began to experience life more abundantly. Who doesn’t want to live a life FULL of abundance?
