Breaking Free of Co-dependency
Codependency in its simplest definition is when one person in a relationship has an excessive psychological reliance on their partner to make him/her feel happy, loved, accepted, valued and good about themselves.
Among the many characteristics of codependency is an excessive reliance on people for APPROVAL and a positive sense of SELF or IDENTITY. If you’re expending all of your energy to meet your significant other’s needs, you may be in a co-dependent relationship. If you‘re the only one constantly making sacrifices in your relationship, you may be in a co-dependent relationship.
If you’re experiencing low self-esteem and shame OR engage in people-pleasing for acceptance, OR if you have a hard time setting boundaries OR fear rejection from others, YOU MAY BE STRUGGLING WITH CO-DEPENDENCY.🙏🏽Learn how my sistah-friend Ashley Peters was able to break free from this unhealthy pattern of functioning in her relationships and find her identity, value, worth and wholeness in Christ.
