Self Leadership

Growth

Personal Growth isn’t easy or comfortable. But it’s necessary for ensuring our psychological well-being and fulfilling our potential.

Pain and Pressure

Not too long ago, I was telling a friend how much I had grown over the past 3 years and she wanted to know my secret. So I simply said, “pain and pressure.” I think most of us want to grow personally AND professionally but we wouldn’t dare ask for more pain and pressure to be added to our lives right?

Imposter Syndrom

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

What is imposter syndrome?

  • Do you attribute your success to luck or coincidence?
  • Do you agonize over the smallest flaws or imperfections in your work?
  • When you succeed, do you secretly feel like you’ve fooled others again?
  • Do you worry that it’s just a matter of time before others find out you’ve been “running a game” on them?

GRATEFUL

I am SO GRATEFUL to have been able to enjoy another year of life and celebrate my birthday!! Although this past year included some BIG disappointments, I’ve learned more about myself (my strengths and weaknesses) and I’ve grown SO much through leadership pain and pressure. I am convinced the things that occurred in my life this past year did not happen to me–they happened for me. For my growth AND my good!!

Master your mind so your mind does’t master you.

While doing a bit of research on the mind and negative thought patterns, I came across an inner critic quiz that helps you discover your inner critic patterns so you can create a plan for how to change them. Now I won’t list the 7 types of critics revealed in the quiz (you can discover them by taking the quiz via the link below), but I do want to start this post by defining ‘inner critic’.

be-you-unapologetically

True acceptance requires you to be who you are. Not change who you are.

I’m flawed. You’re flawed. We’re all flawed. Therefore, none of us are perfect. Yet ‘perfect‘ is the image so many of us strive for.  As if perfection is something we can actually achieve. abundance

What’s the secret to living in abundance? It’s probably not what you think.

Toxic Fishbowls

Fish living in a goldfish bowl are not living their best life. Because most fish bowls lack a filtration system to keep their environment clean and free of toxins, very few goldfish survive for more than a few weeks. A bowl simply can’t provide a suitable living environment for any fish to live a healthy and long life. Likewise, an unfiltered or poorly filtered mind does not lead to living life more abundantly. When our thoughts go unchecked and unfiltered, we develop toxic mindsets that cause us to lead unhealthy, unproductive, and unhappy lives. But a new way of thinking will always precede a new way of living.

past failures

How do you respond to Failure? This is how I respond when he speaks.

He’s always there. Lurking in the shadows. Glaring. Staring. Blaming and blaring.

So I asked:

Who are you? What do you want from me?  Why do you constantly pursue and accuse me?
Why won’t you leave me alone? Why do you torment me?  Stop obscuring my sight!
Can’t you see I’m tryna move forward, and make moves with my life?
I demand to know who you are! I demand to know what you want!!
Show me your face now! So we can get on with this fight!

Is the voice in your head holding you back? Use this framework to reset your mindset so you can move forward and win!

THE BIG VOICE IN MY HEAD

I’d like to tell you a story. This story is about a little girl who had a big dream of becoming a writer. She wanted her words to inspire, encourage and give hope to the heart of every reader who came across her written words. But there was this one BIG problem, the gremlin. You see the gremlin was the loud, mean, nasty and demeaning voice she always heard inside of her head. It would always say things to her such as:
